Birdman Spazzes Out on the Breakfast Club

Recently few things have made me laugh more than the sight of Birdman’s spazzing out on the Breakfast Club. The hip hop mogul was scheduled for an interview on the radio show slightly over a day ago, most likely to promote his upcoming sixth official solo studio album Ms. Gladys. Unfortunately the interview did not last all of 2 minutes before he and his entire entourage walked out of the studio.

Birdman arrived in the studio and before even greeting Charlemagne, DJ Envy and Angella Yee he warned the three of them to respect his name. “I won’t start this sh*t off until all three of y’all stop playin’ with my name…stop playing with my f***ing name,” Birdman told the Breakfast Club. As soon as the broadcast went on the air Charlemagne brought up the fact that Birdman cursed his team out and prompted him to reiterate his sentiments live on the air for everyone to hear. A back and forth went on between the two which ended with the #1 stunner walking out of the studio with his entire entourage. What an awkward moment.

The reason for the Cash Money CEO’s breakdown was not explicitly mentioned, but I suspect that it has something to do with two separate interviews that were conducted on the show last year during which Tricky Daddy and Rick Ross were involved in making jokes about Birdman. Charlemagne brought up the two rappers’ names when Birdman was cussing the Breakfast Club out.

As I sat and watched the clip I couldn’t help but think that Birdman had brought this on himself. The man is notorious for not paying people what they’re owed. So many artists have walked out on him such as Juvenile, B.G., Mannie Fresh, Turk, Jay Sean, and others due to his treatment of them. Whenever the Cash Money Records is in the news it seems it’s always for negative reasons these days. That rarely happens without any sort of provocation so it’s highly likely that a lot of the claims made by people who’ve had run-ins with Birdman bear truth. When that kind of thing happens repeatedly people tend to make fun of you, so it’s not a surprise at all.

Moreover he did not help the situation by cussing out the hosts of the show before going on air. I mean sure we all know that Charlemagne is a jerk but I don’t think it would have hurt to politely ask them not to say disrespectful things when they hit the air. If they were to ignore that request then it would have been more understandable to spaz out on them.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t think it’s fair to have your name disrespected, especially to a global audience. In business having a bad name/reputation can hurt you badly even if you’re great at what you do. So I understand why Birdman was upset. But his approach to the situation was poor, childish, and hilarious at the same time. I’ve watched that video over and over again and still can’t get enough of it. You can scroll up the page to watch the entire clip of the short interview which racked up more than a million views within a day. A clip of what happened after Birdman walked out is below.
